Reconstruction of Modern Social Theory

It's my book. "Reconstruction of Modern Social Theory" published by Gadjah Mada University Press, 2012. This book is written departs from the fact that the world grows increasingly complex and dynamic.This reality confirms what was revealed by Durkheim that the world evolved from the simplest to the more complex life. But the world is not entirely filled with the harmonious order. The world is full of conflict. This fact was confirmed with the Marxian thinkers. Not really as Marxian thought, people do not want to constantly be in conflict. Communities also wants to build a consensus during their life, though often encountered is the pseudo or false consensus. Now the society are in post-industrial era. They are heterogeneous, caused by awareness of the uniqueness of the model to which every citizen of the world in responding to the reality. Weberian thinkers, focusing on the unique world of human consciousness and subjective, in the middle of the dynamic and complex world. This book invites readers to critically reconstruct the three streams of social science. The three streams of school are consensus, conflict, and the stream of the world concerned with human consciousness. The world is a product of human consciousness. Although the human consciousness is also a product of a world where people are.

Mikail's Dream

Mikail Oasis Prabowo, graduation of SMA Trimurti Surabaya. He looks very happy and proud of wearing academic gown of CIC Curtin University of Technology. He just graduates from International Business programme of diploma at CIC. The graduation ceremony celebrated last April 22, 2009. Now he looks very busy as well, as he has so many asignment for his bachelor programme in the third smester of International Busines in Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia.

One of the graduands is Renda Haniefa Rahmi (red box). She graduated from diploma of communication studies. She is very busy right now with her third smester in bachelor of communication studies in the same university.

Birokrasi Perkoncoan

Buku saya ini mengajak pembaca untuk memahami potret perilaku elite penguasa pemerintahan Jawa di kota besar dalam mengkonstruk agama di tengah relasinya dengan kekuasaan. Kekuasaan masih dipandang analog dengan tanah yang tidak bisa diperluas. Setiap usaha memperluasnya, hanya berarti mengurangi kekuasaan orang lain. kekuasaan masih milik sebuah "enclave", dalam hal ini milik segelintir elite yang memiliki kesamaan kesetiaan, kepentingan dan skisma aliran

Kekuasaan merupakan permainan politik kaum elite yang cenderung tidak terbagi. Kalau toh harus berbagi, sedapat mungkin dilakukan dengan orang dekat dan orang-orang setia atau para "zealot". Dalam birokrasi, maka lahir sebuah praktik "birokrasi perkoncoan" yang tidak jauh beda dengan patrimonialisme, mereka saling melindungi di antara sesama kelompok kepentingan dan skisma aliran. Di sisi lain, agama yang menyebar, memang merupakan sumberdaya politik yang efektif. Namun,dalam praktik, pengambilan simbol agama bergeser makna ke dalam pencarian legitimasi dari pusat-pusat kekuasaan. Moralitas kekuasaan telah menggeser pola pemaknaan atas agama: bukan sebagai sumber membangun the new age spirituality atau the new religious consciousness, tetapi sebagai sarana meraih kekuasaan.

SUMBANGAN PENDIDIKAN DALAM PENCIPTAAN BUDAYA POLITIK

Adakah sumbangan pendidikan terhadap penciptaan budaya politik?
Panggung politik nasional di negeri ini sarat akan kosa kata menarik, termasuk di dalamnya adalah kosa kata 'politikus busuk.' Kosa kata ini mirip dengan apa yang dilukiskan C. Wright Mills dengan istilah higher immorality, hilangnya kepekaan moral dalam mengelola kekuasaan politik. Ironinya hal itu terjadi di kalangan elite, notabene mereka adalah pemegang power. Politik yang semula dimaksudkan untuk membangun kebaikan bersama, lalu melenceng, politik untuk diri mereka sendiri -politics for himself. Nah, adakah sumbangan pendidikan dalam memperbaiki immoralitas politik elite? Seharusnya, pendidikan memiliki sumbangan besar. Jika immoralitas politik masih saja terjadi, artinya pendidikan masih harus bekerja keras dalam turut serta menghadirkan politikus yang memiliki komitmen menciptakan kebaikan bersama.
